Ally Renewal CD Rates

You may want to negotiate your Ally renewal CD rates at a branch near you, if your CD is about to reach maturity. They may offer you a renewal bonus. So far, Ally Bank is the only bank that may be offering a good renewal bonus that is more than anybody else.

You will need to assess your option when a CD is maturing. In general, it is always a good practice to contact your bank before your CD matures to see if they can offer you a better rate for the renewal. You need to decide if you will continue with your current bank or move on to a better rate from another.

If you renew your CD with Ally Bank, you may receive a 0.50% loyalty bonus over their current posted rate, depending on the CD’s maturity date and if your CD is qualified for the bonus. As an example, if your 12 month CD matures today, you would get a rate of 1.74% APY. With the Loyalty or Renewal Bonus of 0.50% added on to that, it will bring your CD rate to 2.24% APY which makes it a good CD renewal rate in today’s market. For some customers, they were told that they could even add money to the rollover CD and still receive the 0.50% bonus. Others could also change the matured CD to a new term or the 9 month No Penalty CD and also receive the loyalty bonus. The renewal bonus was supposed to have ended 1/10/2010 but has been resurrected until the end of January 2010. Unfortunately, it is again not advertised in their website for some reason.

Contact an Ally Bank CSR nearest you if your CD is about to mature and check about the possibility of getting this loyalty bonus for you and their current CD rates. To get the best Ally renewal CD rates, customers actually have to actively ASK for the loyalty bonus.
