First National Bank CD Rates
These are the First National Bank CD Rates as posted on their website on February 17, 2010. The interest that is incurred can be paid out monthly, quarterly, annually or left in the deposit of the certificate. If payment of the interest is your choice, it can be done by check to you or deposited in a savings or checking account. The minimum deposit to open a CD is $1000. Upon maturity unless otherwise instructed the CD will roll over into the same term CD as it was previous.
To obtain the following APY’s the interest that is earned must stay in the certificate of deposit for the term of the CD. The 6 month CD earns an APY of 1.25%. The 12 month CD earns an APY of 1.50%. The 24 month CD earns an APY of 2.00%. The 36 month CD earns an APY of 2.25%. The 12 month add-on CD earns an APY of 1.25%.
The 12 month add-on CD has a fixed term but not a fixed deposit other than the minimum. At any point during the year the holder of this CD can add a deposit in $100 increments without extending the maturity date. The number of additional deposits is unlimited. There are also 2 withdraws permitted that can occur in the 12 month term without a penalty being accessed as long as the balance does not drop below the $1000 minimum balance level. If there is an interest rate increase at the bank, this CD can increase with it. The rate increase can only occur once per term.
As with all CD rates, they are subject to change without notice but were current as of April 21, 2010. These First National Bank CD Rates are insured by the FDIC.
