Members receive a variety of Navy Credit Union CD rates that earn higher than share savings accounts. Headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, the Navy Federal Credit Union is the largest natural member (or retail) credit union in the world, both in asset size and in membership. As of April 2008, Navy Federal had over $35 billion in assets, and over 3 million members.
Currently, the Navy Federal has some featured shares or CD products. One of them is the Special EasyStart Certificate. For a minimum deposit of $50, the 1 year CD has an interest rate of 2.86% with an APY of 2.90%. The other featured share or CD is the Special 30 month Certificate. For a minimum deposit of $18,000, the 30 month CD has an interest rate of 2.23% with an APY of 2.25%.
For a minimum deposit of $100, the standard EasyStart Certificate’s 1 year CD has an interest rate of 1.44% with an APY of 1.45%. The 6 months CD requires $2,500 minimum deposit for a 26 weeks term. It has an interest rate of 0.90% with an APY of 0.90%. The 9 month CD requires $10,000 minimum deposit. It has an interest rate of 1.18% with an APY of 1.20%. The 18 month CD requires $10,000 minimum deposit. It has an interest rate of 1.64% with an APY of 1.65%.
Also available are rates for CDs (or Share Certificates) with a minimum deposit of $1000. The 1 year CD has an interest rate of 1.44% with an APY of 1.45%. The 2 year CD has an interest rate of 1.88% with an APY of 1.90%. The 3 year CD has an interest rate of 2.18% with an APY of 2.20%. The 4 year CD has an interest rate of 2.47% with an APY of 2.50%. The 5 year CD has an interest rate of 2.81% with an APY of 2.85%. The 7 year CD has an interest rate of 3.78% with an APY of 3.85%.
