Noticing that we have a lot of military readers here on Best CD Rates Today, we thought we would focus on our brave men and women of the military and show them what’s available at their favorite bank, Navy Federal Credit Union.
So today we’re going to see what CD rates at NFCU are doing and how they can help you save. We’ll start with three new, special share certificates offered for short and medium term investments. All three of these specials are also available as IRA/ESA CDs as well.
An 18 month Navy Federal Credit Union CD special offer requires a $10,000 minimum deposit, but it gives a great 2.25% annual percentage yield (APY) for that. Interest is compounded daily and credited monthly.
A similar 9 month offer has Navy Federal CD rates of 1.65% APY for a $10,000 minimum deposit with the same interest terms.
Finally, a one year Easy Start requires only $50 to open and the CD rates at NFCU for this is a big 2.90% APY, which is well above national average right now. Interest still compounds daily and credits monthly too.
Several standard rate certificates are also available at NFCU. For the short-term investor, Navy Federal CD rates for six month terms are 1.15% APY for a $2,500 minimum deposit and 1.40% APY for a $10,000 minimum.
Other rates worth noting are low-deposit $1,000 series in terms from 1 to 7 years at 1.70% on up to 3.85% APY, depending on term. For those with more to deposit, a $20,000 deposit on those terms yields 1.85% to 4.00% APY.
Navy Federal Credit Union is fully backed by the deposit insurance (NCUA) for national credit unions.
