Pentagon Federal Credit Union CD Rates

The current Pentagon Federal Credit Union CD rates are advertised as Money Market Certificates. This is because they are a credit union which has different categories and requirements for their investments than other financial institutions do.

To receive these current rates, an investor must deposit a minimum of $1000. The 7 year MMC has an APY of 3.75%. The 5 year MMC has an APY of 3.50%. The 4 year MMC has an APY of 3.25%. The 3 year MMC has an APY of 3.00%. The 2 year MMC has an APY of 1.75%. The 1 year MMC has an APY of 1.25% and the 6 month MMC has an APY of 1.00%.

The rates of these MMCs are locked in the day they are purchased for the term of the investment. All of these investments earn interest that is compounded daily except the 6 month certificate. It earns simple interest.

All of these MMC rates are current and were posted on January 5, 2010. The dividends from these investments can be added to the certificate for additional profit. If preferred, the dividends can be transferred to a PenFed checking, savings, or money market account or a check can be sent to you.

Unlike CD rates at other financial intuitions, you must be a member of this credit union to be eligible for these rates. To be a member, you must have served in one of the US military services, be a US government employee, or have a family member that was of one the previously stated requirements.

The Pentagon Federal Credit Union CD rates are competitive but are subject to change without notice.
