The changes include both the terms that are available to the public and the CD rates associated with the same terms that are still available since the last review.

Because of this, when you are investing your money, review each of the terms of the certificates of deposits and their return and chose the ones that benefit your financial plan the most. The changes in the APYs are from a return in the APY of 0.36% to 0.75%.

The current bank CD rates include the 9 month CD that is earning an APY of 0.25%. This term is only available for the standard CDs. All terms of 15 months and above are available for both the standard CDs and the IRA CDs.

The 15 month CD is earning an APY of 0.40%.The25 month CD is earning an APY of 0.65%. The 37 month CD is earning an APY of 0.85%.

The best CD rates are from the 59 month CD that is earning an APY of 1.50%.

The current special CD rates being offered by SunTrust include a Solid Finds a Way package which consists of 2 separate but joined CDs. There is the 39 month and 63 month CDs that each earns an APY of 2.40%. Each CD has to have equal amounts on deposit in both accounts.

The other SunTrust CD specials include a 59 month CD that is earning an APY of 2.25%. The 37 month CD is earning an APY of 1.55%.The 22 month CD is earning an APY of 1.01%. There is also a 10 month no penalty CD that is earning an APY of 0.35%. All of these CDs require a minimum deposit of $2,000 and have a maximum deposit of $1,000,000.

The no penalty CD allows for the depositor to make a onetime withdraw from the account after 7 days of opening g the CD.

SunTrust Bank does offer standard CDs that have terms from 7 days to 10 years, but you must contact your local branch offices for the rates on these investments. The APYs of the standard CDs are in a tiered format so the more you invest for the longer period, the greater earning s you will have accumulated.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the bank also offers retail and commercial banking as well as trust services, mortgages banking, credit cards, mutual funds, insurance, equipment leasing, asset management, and securities underwriting and dealing.

SunTrust Bank has, at present, a high-yield Special CD Package offer for consumer and business accounts but is not available for public funds. A corresponding SunTrust checking account is required. The special CD package is 2 CDs combined in a package. It combines a 26 month CD & IRA CD which has an APY of 3.00% and a 49 month CD & IRA CD which has an APY of 3.00%. The minimum opening deposit for these CDs is $2000 per CD and the maximum opening deposit is $1,000,000 per CD. The balances must be split evenly between CDs in the package.

The Special CD Offers provides a competitive fixed rate and requires a minimum opening deposit of $2000.

The 10 month No Penalty CD has an APY of 0.50%. This CD lets you make a one-time withdrawal of all or a portion of your funds without an early withdrawal penalty, after the first 7 days of the initial account term only. The waiver will not be applicable to subsequent renewed term.

The 10 month Traditional CD has an APY of 0.80%. The 25 month CD and IRA CD has an APY of 1.60%. The 39 month CD and IRA CD has an APY of 2.30%. The 59 month CD and IRA CD has an APY of 3.00%. The 25 month CD and IRA CD has an APY of 1.60%. You will need to call a branch in your local area for the current special offer rate for the 13 month CD & IRA CD.
