We’re continuing a look at local rates here on Best CD Rates Today. We have more great ones coming up, so if you haven’t seen your state recently, just wait!

6 Month Texas CD Rates
This shorter-term is popular amongst our Texas readers, so we’ll begin here. BBVA Compass has a 1.15% APY and a $5,000 minimum requirement. Guaranty and ViewPoint Bank then offer 1.01% APY and 1.00% APY (respectively) with $1,000 minimum deposit requirements.

1 Year TX CD Rates
For this term, Discover Bank has a 2.10% APY with a $2,500 minimum deposit required. OmniAmerican then has a 2.00% APY and a $500 minimum deposit. BBVA Compass then comes in with a 1.70% APY and a $5,000 minimum deposit requirement.

3 Year CD Rates in Texas
Rates stay competitive in this term with Discover Bank offering a 2.75% APY and $2,500 minimum deposit requirement while ViewPoint Bank has a 2.50% APY and a $1,000 minimum required. OmniAmerican is close behind with a 2.40% APY and a $500 minimum deposit.

5 Year Texas CD Rates
Things are still hot for this long term, with Discover Bank giving a 3.25% APY with their $2,500 minimum deposit requirement. OmniAmerican, Southwest Securities, and ViewPoint Banks all then have a 3.00% APY with a $500, $1,000, and $1,000 minimum deposit (respectively). BBVA Compass then comes in with a 2.70% APY and a $5,000 minimum deposit requirement.

All banks listed are FDIC insured. Texas CD rates can change quickly, so if any of these are of interest, grab yours today.

Our job here at Best CD Rates Today is to find you the best CD rates available and let you know what kind of options there are out there for you. Right now, we’re focusing on Texas and the best Texas CD rates there are today. Of course, CD rates in Texas will change quickly, so if any of these look right for you, lock it in quickly. We’ll look at 1 year, 5 year, and then six month terms to compare.

For one year terms, the top yield for Texas CD rates right now is Compass Bank, with a certificate of deposit at 1.70% annual percentage yield (APY) and a $5,000 minimum deposit. ViewPoint Bank has a 1.50% APY and the third best Texas CD is the Bank of America rate at 1.00%. Those last two have $1,000 minimum deposits.

Looking at five year terms, things get a little more exciting. Nationwide Bank has the top CD rates in Texas in this category, with a 3.30% APY and a $500 minimum deposit. Guaranty Bank comes in next with Texas CD rates of 2.81% APY and a $1,000 minimum. ViewPoint then brings up the third best Texas CD with 2.75% APY and a $1,000 minimum deposit.

Now for the short-term deposits. For this term, the top CD rates in Texas are at Compass Bank at 1.35% APY and a $5,000 deposit minimum. Then comes ViewPoint with 1.35% APY and a $1,000 minimum followed by Guaranty Bank with 1.21% APY and the same minimum.

All of these top CD rates in Texas are also FDIC insured accounts, so your deposits are safe. Again, if any of these are right for you, then get on board quickly as rates change quickly and often.
