CD rates at Valley National increase with the term of the certificates and a 6-month investment yields 0.50% APY. A 9-month CD would return 0.60% whereas a 1-year standard certificate yields 0.80%.

Valley National certificate of deposit rates go higher for longer terms. A 2-year certificate yields 1.40% APY. A 3-year CD returns 2.00% and 5-year at 3.00% APY. A 6-year CD investment would return 3.25% APY. There are other options of investments in the form of an 18-month certificate with 1.25% APY. Customers can also go for a 30-month CD with 1.50% and a 4-year CD at 2.25%.

The company also offers single or multiple maturity CDs for an investment of $100,000. Under this option, the maximum investment is that of six months with 0.75% APY. The company does charge fees on these certificates and also insists on substantial penalties in case of an early withdrawal. The bank deducts 90 days interest in case of withdrawal on a 1-year CD. Customers withdrawing their CD with a term greater than a year but less than there years would result in the loss of interest of 180 days. Early withdrawal of a CD that is greater than 3-year term would result in a loss of 365 days interest.
