Wells Fargo CD Rates Update

This is an August 2010 Wells Fargo CD rates update to help the American consumer to be informed. The  CD rates that are posted are good from July 31, 2010 until August 6, 2010.

The Standard CDs are at fixed rates for the term of their deposit.  The 3 month CD has an APY of 0.10%. The 6 month CD has an APY of 0.15%, and the 1 year CD has an APY of 0.20%. At the end of each term, each CD has a grace period of 7 days. If no action by the holder of the certificate is taken, then the deposit will automatically be reinvested in the same term CD.

There are also 5 special CD rates offered by Wells Fargo. The special 9 month CD with an APY of 0.35% that renews at a 6 month term. The 23 month CD has a 0.90% APY that renews at a 12 month term. The 33 month CD has an APY of 1.40% that renews at a 24 month term. The 45 month CD has an APY of 1.90% that renews as a 36 month term, and the 58 month CD has an APY of 2.40% that renews as a 48 month term.

The minimum deposit is $5000 to open an account for one of these CDs. These special rates are only good for the initial term of the deposit and a shorter term will occur automatically if no action is taken by the depositor.
